Heart Saver CPR/AED Over 1.5 million heart attacks occur each year, and approximately 350,000 of these victims die before ever reaching a hospital. Many more lives could be saved each year, if more people learned CPR since CPR is a vital link in the chain of survival.
Heartsaver CPR/AED: This course teaches CPR, AED use, relief of a chocking infant, adult, or child, as well as use of barrier devices for all ages. Heartsaver CPR/AED 2009: Prerequisite: None Book: Heatsaver AED Student Workbook Tuition: $35, Tuition includes instruction and all course materials except for the course book.
All of the American Heart Association books can be made available through EMS Consulting Services for $20 in addition to the normal course tuition. Upon completion of the course, students will receive an American Heart Association course completion card.
Heartsaver First Aid Heartsaver First Aid: This course teaches rescuers to effectively recognize and treat adult emergencies in the critical first minutes until EMS arrives. Such emergencies include shock, seizures, bleeding and more. This course is intended for persons assigned to respond to emergencies in the workplace or community as well as those who want to learn first aid, CPT and AED skills. Some rescuers are required to take this course as parts of their employer’s efforts to comply with OSHA regulations, e.g., corporate employees, security guards, airline personnel, lifeguards and other individuals who want or need first aid training.
This class does not include CPR/AED
